Margaret Thomas
Margaret Thomas
Margaret now in her ninety third year is an inspiration to us all with her enthusiasm and energy once said to be the last of the modern impressionists she paints most days from her studio literally over the river Waveney on the border of Norfolk and Suffolk
Margaret won a scholarship to the Slade but left for the Royal Academy two years later she is a keen member of the New English art group and regularly exhibits with them. Her work is in many notable collections including Lloyds of London and HRH Prince Philip.
Margaret’s flower studies are some of her best known subjects preferring to capture their beauty not just fresh but as they wither and contort. The river from her studio window is another favourite subject recording it through the seasons
